A Passionate Conservative Voice with Experience and Skill for the Utah Legislature

Professional, Fiscally Responsible, Educator

Education:
The success of our families, our communities, and our state depends upon a quality education available and affordable to all. That education can be provided in several ways: public education, charter schools, private home schooling, private schools, private and public applied technology centers, community colleges and universities. All of which must be accountable for the quality of education services they provide. Parents should play a significant roll in the education of their children and in fact be able to choose where they send their children. The education services must be well funded and managed as if they were private service-oriented businesses.

Family:
The family is the foundation of society, every family. Public policy should support every family regardless of its makeup to achieve success in providing a safe, empowering place for children to grow, with love and support of those in parental roles.

Fiscal Responsibility:
We need a legislature that respects the free market and the ability of Utah residents to make the best choices as to how they invest and spend their own hard earned dollars. The legislature should not be looking for ways to get into our pocketbooks, but they should be finding ways to be more creative and efficient.

Dignity and Worth/Inclusion:
Every person in our community deserves to be treated with dignity and every person's worth needs to be recognized, particularly by those who work and legislate for us. Every one should have a place at the table in this great state.

Safety and Security:
Every person deserves a safe and secure community where public policy protects fairly and enforcement applies to everyone.

Economic Development:
Society does not work well unless the economy is strong and just. Family members need jobs, resources, and opportunity. Communities must be financially healthy to allow every one in the community to take advantage of the results of hard work. We must have a court system that does not punish our families and businesses through unfair lawsuits that create economic or personal damage. He will be a strong advocate for the protection of our property rights, all our families and our first amendment rights.

Justice:

Openness:
Government needs to be open, truthful and responsive to everyone in the state because its business is our business. Currently public policy is being created by a legislature which does not adequately listen to the views of all of the constituents. In fact, it treats as enemies those with opposing viewpoints. He wants to start to change that.

Truth in Government:
